Users can now take advantage of WeChat’s features via its native desktop Mac client. Launched just last week, WeChat’s latest app for the Mac OS system is breaking new boundaries with user convenience and versatility. Currently, basic messaging and file transfers can be done through the Mac client, but additional features WeChat users are familiar with will soon be added in the near future.
To log in to the clean, user-friendly Mac app, the user will simply follow the same process as the already-available web app: scanning a QR code with your phone. When logged in to the native Mac app, WeChat will fire pop up alerts on the desktop, while WeChat on the smart phone will remain silent.
Currently, you can download the beta version of WeChat for Mac here.
In the meantime, be sure to look out for the official release in the Mac App Store sometime soon.
